Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise discussed. Appointments must be cancelled at least 48 hours before the scheduled time, or the full fee will be charged. Please note that insurance does not cover missed appointments.
As a licensed mental health counselor in Washington state I also can be billed as an out-of-network provider for most insurance plans, and I can bill as an in-network provider for Kaiser Permanente and First Choice Health Network. This means I would receive direct payment from you and provide a billing statement for you to request a reimbursement from your insurance company. I would advise you to contact your insurance company to learn more about your plan as I cannot guarantee you would be reimbursed. However, most insurance companies will reimburse for therapeutic services. If you are not sure about this process, I can help you figure it out with your insurance company. Here there are some questions you can ask your health insurance:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible, and has it been met?
- What is my copay for out-patient mental health services?
- What is my coinsurance for mental health services?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- Is a referral required from my primary care physician?
